The Center for Social Impact’s Humanitarian Action Club is hosting a ‘Dip-into-Advocacy’ event-a student-led showcase designed to highlight major global issues happening across the globe and what the community can do to help! Students are invited to join the Humanitarian Action Club on Wednesday, April 2nd at 5pm in the Dolan Event Hall to start their journey towards making a difference.
This immersive event will feature a variety of student-initiated presentations on causes ranging from the Wine to Water initiative to advocacy for women’s education in Afghanistan. Getting involved is as easy as stopping by and learning about those and other pressing political and non-political challenges affecting communities worldwide. Topics also covered during this event include the Humanitarian Action Minor, Scholars at Risk, Fashion design, and Partners to End Human Trafficking.
Mia Van Mater, who led the organization of the event, explained the club’s goal of motivating Stags to do more, “Our goal is to create an informative, inspiring space where students can raise awareness about the issues they care about, connect with others, and explore real-world ways to make a difference.”
Students are invited to join general body meetings as well, “If you have a topic you would like to include, please join us in our club meeting Wednesday the 26th in the Library’s Innovation Lab at 7PM.”
To keep things casual and engaging, the Humanitarian Action Club will be serving a selection of chips and dips—so you can snack while you learn!
