Summer is quickly approaching and students all around campus are making their summer plans! Some are locking down jobs at home, others are planning trips with friends and plenty are just excited to relax and spend time with family and friends. Whether it’s about making money, going on adventures or just catching a break, everyone’s got their own idea of the perfect summer.
Students who have plans to travel this summer are visiting many fun places. The Jersey Shore seems to be a popular destination for Fairfield students this summer. Two sophomores, Olivia Foran and Brooke Chipman, will find themselves both living and working there this upcoming summer. They get the best of both worlds with this situation, making money and enjoying the beach during the summertime. Sophomore Gillian Graham has scheduled trips to Sea Isle City as a part of her plans for this summer. Whether they’re working, vacationing, or a bit of both, Fairfield students are finding fun and memorable ways to spend their summer.
While some students are staying closer to home on their trips, others are venturing to places further away. Sophomore Gianna Cover is leaving the country this summer to visit some very cool destinations in Europe. She says, “I am going on vacation to London, Amsterdam and Paris with my family in July!” This sounds like a great getaway for any student looking to mix family time with some fun, new places to visit. Another sophomore, Charlotte Black, is also traveling outside of the country this summer. She plans to visit England and the south of England in May. A European vacation is the perfect way for students to explore new cultures, try amazing food and make unforgettable memories this summer.
All the trips are taking students far and wide. However, many students plan to stay at home for the majority of their long break, working many different jobs. Some people haven’t quite figured out their jobs for the summer yet, but others are excited to share their work plans. While living in Sea Isle City this upcoming summer, Olivia Foran plans to waitress at a nearby restaurant. It is her first time serving and she is excited to gain this experience.
On the other hand, sophomore Annie Shay is considering her work options. She is not sure about whether she plans to work at a boat club this summer or waitress, as well. However, Shay is looking forward to her plans to visit Maine and upstate New York for part of the long summer ahead. While some students have their summer jobs all lined up and others are still considering their options, everyone is finding their own way to make the most of the break. And for those choosing to stay closer to home, there are plenty of exciting plans in the works, too.
No matter where they’re headed or how they plan to spend their time, Fairfield students are making this summer their own. From beach towns to European cities and everything in between, it’s clear that everyone is getting ready for a well-deserved break filled with fun, new experiences and memories that’ll last long after the summer fades away.
