Romanticizing your life with an overpriced coffee, a trip to your favorite store, or binging your go-to TV show, can be the key to getting through the week. Fall’s energy comes in heavy with pumpkin spice lattes, cozy autumn scented candles and elevating your wardrobe with an oversized sweater. Fall in Connecticut is the perfect ingredient for a recipe to romanticize your life, especially on Fairfield’s spacious and stunning campus. Slowing down and remembering to stay where your feet are during the fall semester is the best way to romanticize your life!
Starting off your romanticized fall begins with taking in the fresh air. Fairfield has wonderful spots to venture to on a brisk walk with friends or even popping in some earbuds and taking the walk alone. Taking a walk is sometimes just the thing you need to take a look around and feel grateful for where you are and where you are going. The duck pond and the zen garden, both located on campus, are special spots to take in the fall foliage and romanticize even the most grueling day.
Along with walking around campus, having a coffee date with yourself or another can be a good sweet treat on a chilly morning in the fall months. Peet’s, Starbucks and Dunkin’ are the coffee spots on campus that all students utilize, especially since bringing out the autumn flavors. Taking your coffee or drink order to sit outside the Dunkin’ in the BCC area, or chilling on the stone steps of Dolan outside the Starbucks will help break up your day. With demanding classes and homework to complete, sitting outside can rejuvenate the soul and help you romanticize your fall at Fairfield.
Walking off campus or taking the Stag Bus into Fairfield’s town is a popular activity done by students on campus, especially to romanticize the semester. In town, there is a farmer’s market set upon Post Road on the Sherman Green, which is located at the Gazebo. On Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the town comes alive with local farms and food producers selling goods to the Fairfield community and bringing a wonderful vibe to the season. While the weather is nice, the farmers market is a great place to experience with friends to bring that autumn vibe back into swing.
Autumn has a certain vibe when it comes to music and what we listen to. Going onto your music streaming service and making the perfect fall playlist can be the perfect anthem you need to walk to your morning class in the crisp fall air. Taking time to curate the playlist and make it unique to yourself and your music style is important to bringing the fall vibes to life. I asked Fizz, “What is your go-to song on your autumn playlist?” and got a few comments with songs such as “1979” by Smashing Pumpkins, “There She Goes” by The La’s and “Mary On A Cross” by Ghost.
Romanticizing your fall season in Fairfield is easy when you have so many activities and outlets on and off campus! While we feel like we have no time to slow down, taking a breath and seeing the beautiful fall foliage and leaves falling can help make the semester fly by. Utilizing off-campus spots, on-campus coffee shops and headphones on a nice walk creates the perfect mixture of autumn vibes needed to make your fall semester a memorable one!
