Advising is well underway and students are preparing to register for classes in November. This time around, however, students are feeling better about using Workday, which was used for the first time in Spring 2025 to register for classes.
Senior Paige Fulton, a nursing major, shared, “I feel more confident than last year.” As a senior, Fulton will be among the first students to register for classes.
Regarding the day of registration, Fulton said, “I get up early. I go to Egan… [and after,] I get coffee and either go to class or go back to bed.”
First-year students, despite having some practice with the platform from registering during orientation, are feeling “stressed.”
Still, first-year Caroline Sullivan is doing her best to prepare: “In my FYE, they were talking about saving schedules, so I was doing that. I got my Spanish, and then I was looking for a Religion [course]… In the School of Education [and Human Development], we have pre-advising before actual advising, so I went to the drop-in advising, and then I have my meeting with my advisor for next week.”
Fulton, a veteran of course registration, gave some advice for students preparing, specifically first-years who may still be uneasy about it: “Trust the process. If you don’t get your first choice or the attributes, you’re still fine.”
Registration will begin for seniors on Nov. 6 and end with first-years on Nov. 14.
